Welcome back to the Burgaz Harbors Project blog as we begin our 2015 field season. This summer we plan to focus on Harbor 1 (L1), which we believe is most likely associated with the earliest phases of habitation at Burgaz. We seek information about the use of this early port and its association with the settlement activities on land just a hundred meters of so away. Work in 2014 exposed ceramics and organics from the Hellenistic period in the harbor; this year we aim to explore these levels in greater detail and search for earlier phases as well.
